The T-Bird boys bowling team improved to 10-5 with a come-from-behind win over Minster on Saturday. Trailing by 74 pins after the two individual games, the team put together a great first baker game, throwing a 227 and winning by 100 pins to grab the lead. They then added to the lead over the next two games, getting up by as many as 90 pins before settling for a 70 pin victory. Senior James Riepenhoff led the way, adding to his 201 average, which is 5th-highest in the league. Senior Ryan Recker’s 190 average has him in the top 15 in the league, junior Ian Friesner’s 187 average puts him in the top 20, and junior Mitch Hoffman’s 180 average places him in the top 30. Freshman Marcus McGee has an average of 178, putting him in the top 40, with senior Westin Young averaging a 165 and junior Troy Hile is throwing at a 145 clip. Tournament action starts this weekend, with the boys looking forward to advancing as a team.
On the girls side, freshman Cecilia Riepenhoff lands in the top 15 with a 165 average and senior Jenea Johnston comes in with a 137 average. Sophomore Venus Rogers is throwing at a 120 average, sophomore Alana Delgado is averaging 106 and junior Lauren Winters comes in at an even 100 clip.
