The varsity girls broke out the bats on Saturday with a 8-4 win over St. Wendelin in the first game of a doubleheader. Sydney Santiguida and Keeley Smith combined pitching efforts allowing only 4 hits and 3 walks. Newcomers Maddie Moore and Cecelia Riepenoff made several great defensive plays for the T-Birds in left and right field respectively. Casey Clark and Tatum Wise both doubled to lead the team offensively.
In the second game, St. Wendelin homered in the 6th inning and went on to win 8-1. Keeley Smith tripled in the 3rd inning and went 4 for 6 on the day. Gabby O’Dowd doubled in the 6th and was 3-7 on the day.
